The egg mold is one of our favorite bento accessories! Simply hard boil your eggs (it's best to gently roll them in the pot during the first few minutes of boiling to ensure the yolks are in the middle) and place the warm, freshly peeled egg in the mold and close and snap shut and place the entire mold in cold water for ten minutes. when you open it, your egg will be beautifully shaped as either a star or heart. Slice and pack or serve for a fun and healthy meal.

How To Use Your Egg Mold: Best type of egg: small or medium size

Boiling the egg: Boil the eggs by putting them in cold water and bringing slowly up to a boil. Once the water is boiling, take off the heat, put on a lid and leave for 8 to 10 minutes. It is pretty important to ensure that the egg yolk ends up in the middle of the egg, rather than leaning to one side. In order to achieve this you should roll the eggs around while the water is coming to a boil.

Using the mold: while your boiled egg is still hot/warm, wet the inside of the mold with cool water than place the egg inside and firmly close the mold. Note to place the egg in a way that best matches its natural shape to the shape of the mold. Do not be alarmed if little bits of egg white squish out. Close the fastener until it clicks and place the entire mold in a bowl of cool water to cool the egg, about ten minutes.
